Case study:

AstraZeneca City House,

Another successful project for AstraZeneca this time in Cambridge. SpaceInvader were appointed to deliver the second of the buildings in the central Cambridge campus.

City House provides accommodation for approximately 200 staff and represents part of their strategic commitment to the Cambridge area and campus development.

SpaceInvader’s concept for City House draws on the nearby Botanical gardens for inspiration. From concept through to delivery, the team worked hard to co-ordinate with both client and contractor to ensure the project ran smoothly and to budget.

The scheme itself, with its relaxed, professional feel has been very well received by its new occupants and has proved to be another successful project on Astrazeneca’s ABW journey.

The ground floor accommodation of roughly 20,000 sqft included the refurbishment of existing reception and meeting room suite, open plan agile working space and collaborative, work lounge areas.

Taking its cue from the building's position close to Cambridge University Botanic Gardens, the design aimed to provide a transition between the city and nature. The natural material, colour and tonal palettes were selected throughout the scheme to create a calm and relaxing workplace.

The project was designed in Manchester and was the first to be delivered by our new London team, headed up by Diana Monkhouse.
