SpaceInvader Project Featured in FX Magazine's 'Flooring Focus'

FX Magazine Flooring Focus: Goodbye Grey Carpet Tiles

Exciting news: FX Magazine has just released their latest 'Flooring Focus,' shining a spotlight on three standout projects that have used innovative flooring choices to create welcoming and comfortable office environments.

We’re absolutely thrilled that our commercial design project for Domestic & General has been featured among these exceptional projects. Even better, our Associate Director Sarah Dabbs has provided insightful commentary on the design approach and flooring selection that made this project such a success.

Our recent full refurbishment of Domestic & General’s headquarters in Wimbledon was driven by a clear goal: to create an attractive, welcoming environment that would encourage employees to return to the office and enhance their overall well-being.

The characterful flooring played a crucial role in achieving this, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal and helping to foster a stimulating and comfortable atmosphere. We are immensely proud that our thoughtful application of design elements, particularly the flooring, has been recognised in this way.

“Breaking down large spaces by altering the floor finish allows occupants to feel located within a certain “room” or area – even when they’re actually within an open-plan environment,’ says Sarah. ‘It’s a way of creating relatable scale for people and allows individuals to identify zones for different types of activity and behaviour, with lighting and furniture choices making this even more apparent and, hopefully, instinctive.”

This feature in FX Magazine is a testament to our commitment to creating spaces that not only look great but also positively impact those who use them.
