Eden, New Bailey Wins at Mix Awards North 2024, Project of the Year, Positive Impact 

Eden, New Bailey in Salford, isn’t just another office space, t’s a revolution in interior commercial design. And now, it’s an award-winning one. We’re thrilled to share that Eden has taken home the Project of the Year, Positive Impact title at the Mix Awards North 2024.

A new era for sustainable workplace design

Rising 36 metres above Salford, Eden, New Bailey is setting a new benchmark for sustainable workplace design. Designed by architectural pioneers Make and delivered by The English Cities Fund (ECF), this 12-story, 115,000 sq. ft structure is more than a building, it’s a vision of what the future of workplace design should look like.

Net-zero operational carbon. This isn’t just lip service, sustainability is built into Eden’s DNA. Europe’s largest living wall. Over 350,000 plants climb its façade, reducing pollution, boosting biodiversity, and offering natural temperature regulation. Spaces designed for people, creating a perfect blend of functionality, comfort, and ecological awareness.

Commercial interior design with a purpose: Flourishing at Eden

When we were tasked with creating the interiors for Eden, we knew it wasn’t about following trends. Our concept, “Flourish,” drew inspiration from the living wall and focused on creating an environment that balances sustainability and functionality.

Key features include:

• Coworking spaces designed to foster productivity and creativity in equal measure.

• A calming wellness studio that promotes both mental and physical wellbeing.

• Flexible retail and event spaces that bring the local community together.

• Every design decision focused on sustainability, from reclaimed materials to low VOC finishes, ensuring we delivered an eco-conscious yet dynamic interior.
